Staring at the sun

One week to go

The website is almost ready to launch!  Some pages will be an ongoing effort during the campaign, but I’m very happy with how it has come together.  The more I wrote, the more I wanted to say.  Thanks to my small army of volunteers for proof-reading content, critiquing website photos, and even reviewing behind the scenes of my website.

One of the most time consuming part of this week has been photo shoots!  I only need a handful of photos done, but to get the right lighting, location, pose and more has been a big part of it. Thanks to my photographer for taking 441 photos so far, and helping me whittle it down to just the handful used on the site.  I’ll use some others on flyers, corflutes, and other advertising material.

While I have plenty of things I want to say and do as a candidate, I’ve found an important part is to put a face – my face – on the campaign.  That’s a new experience for me, and picking the best photo of yourself from over 400 is an interesting exercise.

I’ve had fun with all elements of preparing my campaign, and the photo shoots were no different.  My photographer snapped a few “blooper shots”, like when she asked me to turn my head into the sun to get rid of a shadow.
