Moncrieff – does the sales brochure stack up?

Moncrieff – does the sales brochure stack up?

Our newer Gungahlin suburbs like Moncrieff had glossy sales pitches. How much of the brochure was delivered? Moncrief had three commercial zoned blocks and there was talk of a supermarket, local shops, a cafe, a community centre, and more.

A community consultation was run in 2021 and feedback was clear. Moncrieff wanted local shops, but more importantly, they wanted something, and they wanted it soon.

What’s happening?

I want to make sure that every resident in the electorate feels they are represented. I want to hear from you about what’s important to you this election. You can reach out online, leave a comment at the bottom of this page, or catch me at a campaign stall. Unfortunately without local shops, you are best of catching me at Casey or Marketplace Gungahlin.

I have spoken with Moncrief residents at stalls, forums, and more. They have identified some concerns, but I’d like to hear more. The biggest issue identified has been the lack of progress towards local cafes, shops, etc. I’ve seen other suburbs left in limbo until the government approves residential towers. We’ve seen what has gone up across Horse Park Drive.

I want to make sure that the community voice in Moncrieff is heard, and not just at election time.

What else do you want for Moncrieff?
